Where the Happy Soles Travel to Brazil

Happy Soles Will Travel to Brazil

Are you ready to flip-flop your way to a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Brazil?

The answer better be yes as world-famous fashion brand Havaianas kicks off its new Happy Soles campaign. This campaign celebrates the fact that Havaianas has been both a witness and a reminder of Filipinos’ happiest moments. A constant companion on everything from beach trips to food trips, Havaianas has trekked up mountains, walked down wedding aisles and danced under the pale moonlight. For many happy soles, Havaianas is a daily reminder of moments spent with friends and filled with laughter – moments that define who we are.

And in an effort to be present in even more unique life experiences, Havaianas kicks off the Happy Soles campaign with a creative competition titled “Happy Soles Will Travel to Brazil.”  Answer the question “If anything was possible, what would you do to make the world happy for a day?” as creatively as possible and you could get the chance to win an all-expense-paid vacation for four to the land of sunshine, Brazil.

The winner, along with three friends, will fly to Brazil on an unforgettable, all-expense-paid retreat, complete with travel must-haves from Havaianas, Sony, David and Goliath, and Aloha Board Sports. The group of friends will get to experience the cool climate of cosmopolitan Sao Paulo and the endless summer of Rio de Janeiro in quirky clothes from David and Goliath, and stylish resort wear from Aloha Board Sports. Not only will they stay in chic, boutique hotels and dine at world-class restaurants, the four friends will also visit Oscar Freire Street, home to Brazil’s fanciest boutiques, where they will enjoy a shopping spree at the Havaianas Concept Store.  A visit to Daslu, a super luxurious shopping mecca is also on the agenda.  In Corcovado Mountain, they will get to see the Brazilian icon, Christ the Redeemer, and record the priceless memory with their Sony CyberShot cameras. They will also experience everything from the football madness at Morumbi and Maracana to the breath-taking tropical landscape of Jardim Botanico, a UNESCO site, and the laid-back beach culture of different world-renowned beaches like Copacabana.  The winner will also be able to share these memories with ease, with a new Sony HandyCam camcorder and Sony Vaio laptop, and even a new Sony Walkman mp3 player to bring home the sound of Samba.

Answers can be recorded via the Havaianas roving video booth that will travel to key malls nationwide or uploaded on the campaign website: www.havaianasphilippines.com/happysoles. The top ten happiest and most creative entries will be shortlisted by a board of judges that includes a representative from the Brazilian Embassy, magazine editor Pauline Suaco-Juan, travel blogger Anton Diaz, Capoeira guru Professor Fantasma, and the Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines. The public will then decide who of the ten will be awarded the grand prize through online voting at the campaign website. The remaining nine finalists will also walk away with prizes from Havaianas and new Sony CyberShot cameras.

“Havaianas has always had the privilege of being with Filipinos during their happiest moments – at the beach, in malls, at home, practically everywhere.  We wanted to create the happiest possible experience through this unique, luxury vacation to Brazil,” says Anne Gonzalez, Managing Director of Havaianas Philippines.

Visit www.havaianasphilippines.com/happysoles for complete contest details or visit the roving video booth in Lipa from February 8 to 14, Metro Manila from February 18 to 28, Cebu from March 8 to 14, Cagayan de Oro from March 22 to 28, Davao from April 5 to 11, Bacolod from April 19 to 25 and Metro Manila once more from April 30 to May 2.

2009 In A Nutshell

2009 was so far the craziest and fastest year (in my books, atleast). And since Im too lazy to blab (and Im really feeling bad that my parents wont allow me to go to my barkada’s Tiger Parteh tonight), here’s a photo rundown of the 23 things (good or bad) that made my year , and yes 23 coz 2009 marked my 23rd year of existence in this big hoolabaloo. One big hoorah to everyone who helped me make it through. So 2010, bring it own! :)

#23 – EHeads Reunion Concert

Super happy to see them all together in one stage after 25 years (exag). I love Ely Buendia (not as much as I love Chito Miranda though) but yeah, this was soooper soooper fun! :)

#22 – Arbee’s Bureau Bash

Live show for Arbee’s Birthday. Couples making out due to some kinky v-day bar games. Owkay. No Comment.

#21 – GMCI Year End Wasakan Parteh

Wasak and Basag to the Zee courtesy of, uhm, just please refer to photo below

#20 – Welcome Home Ron My Loves

Impromptu dinner with block mates to some sort of “celebrate” MY (haha, may ownership) Ron’s homecoming – just because we loove him soo much!

#19 – Miko’s Showgirl Moves (Block Karaoke Night)

I wish I could post her video here, kaya lang baka patayin niya ako. So this is what she does to get the man that she wants (haha!). Miko is just the life of the parteh! :)

The night I got so broooke! Im not playing Lucky Nine again, sooper not my lucky number evah. x_x

Lotsa lovin to ZC, our barkada’s first baby (she’s crying in this photo coz I was late at her baptism, cheeez)

Cebu overnight trip with the best travel group ever, and yes, we effin survived the Philippine’s first skywalk adventure (and oh, we had some beer before we did this, luckily, we didnt fell. lol)

#14 – Philippine Quill Awards

My team won 3 awards including an Award of Excellence for some of our major campaigns this year. Big hugs to Sam Sanchez and Che Caparas (my podners forever) for making this all happen. Special mention to my loves Anna Abola (na super nag effort for teazperiments) :)

#12 – Sleepover EK Adventure

First gig for 2009 with my best college friends. This was Miko’s first EK experience too (so this must be more memorable for her). This was just a crazy crazy day, and oh, this is the place where you meet unwanted creatures. Boo.

#11 – Sumilon Getaway

My best beach escapade for 2009. Sumilon is just paradise.

My best campaign (personal choice) for 2009. This was just something I really believed in and worked hard for. To my dear friends at Bayan, lets do more great things together! (OMG, did I just typed that? Hahaha!)

#8 – Ondooooy!

First indoor flood experience (ang labo ng indoor! haha). This was just one, if not the most devastating calamities of the past year. On a personal note, I was super sad coz my more than 10 years (i guess) collection of letters, notes and the like , uhm, died (proof below). Unliiiike!

#7 – Umo – O-Bar!

First ever Malate experience with nobody nobody but Evan and Darla. Purrrfect! :)

#6 – GALACK -C (what a name) Reunited

Get together after 25 years with my elem barkada. Super reminisce mode on how super pa-cool we were back then (bumibili ng Cali and nagppretend na beer, owkay, bata palang “alcoholic” na). And yeah, fast facts we got our “barkada name” by putting the first letter of our first name s together, i knooow, baduy. LOL :)

#5 – Stranded in Saigon

Due to some weird happenstance (katangahan for short), we were left by our flight back to Manila (ibalik nyo kami sa Pilipinas). Take note, this tour group is composed of professional Senior PR Accounts Officers with above average logistical skills and who are supposed to be very keen with details. Haha, SPELL! :)

#4 – Singapore Impromptu Trip

Impromptu trip to SG (due to #5). 12 hours city gala time, major thanks to my fave cousin Iana for touring us :)

#3 – 23rd Burpday

#2 – Family Holiday

Still spending the holiday with ze complete family. Spending fun quality time with them just means so much to me (well after my dad was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer). Praying for more years of love and togetherness. Drama much.

#1 – WONT SPILL NO MATTER WHAT. BAKA MA-JINX :)

Topshop Sale

Early last week, The Philippine Quill organizers informed us that our campaign entries will be given recognition at this year’s awarding ceremony. That’s one hell of a great news but on the other hand became a problem when all of a sudden i thought about what the eff am I going to wear !@%#$. It may seem such a petty thing bot not really when you’re part of the ever-awards-fashion-forward GeiserMaclang team.

Here’s what I wore last year

Black Maldita Dress, Pink Janilyn Pumps

Black Maldita Dress, Pink Janilyn Pumps

So yesterday, I asked my sister to help me shop for my Quill dress, we went to Trinoma (because that’s the nearest mall from our place) and tirelessly look for the best fashion find (style and price wise, as I’m on a budget, yes, IAM :) ) We were so disappointed at first because we cant find any up until we found ourselves at Topshop and were surprised that they’re ON SALE. Yay! (according to Ate Sales Lady, all branches will be on sale till November 2) I was just soooper happy to get stuffits that’s half of the original prize.

My Fashion Inspiration: Leighton Meester in Marc Jacobs. Young and Chic one shouldered dress (I can’t find a photo of Anne Curtis wearing this, pero I saw her wearing this one too, soo fab!)

10.14.09 – Remembering Apeng

I MISS YOU APENG! – I can’t think of any better line to start this entry.  For everyone else’s sake, Apeng is a dear, dear friend I lost from a tragic car accident. What’s even painful is that we were together when this happened somewhere in C5 – that effin deadly road to the other side of the world. Till now I still can’t comprehend why everything happened, why out of the 8 passengers only 1 died or better said, why someone had to die when everyone else was  in perfect shape? I was even thinking that technically, the casualty would’ve been me coz I was on the crash side. It has been exactly three years (today, 10.14) since this happened and everytime I think of it I still get those chills I felt that night and my heart is just soo broken thinking that never again in this lifetime will I see her.

Blame It On The Weatherman

I haven’t blogged for a loong time, actually, come to think of it; I haven’t really blogged at all (well, except for photos of my camwhoring escapades and endless promotional crap for work).  Lately I’ve been thinking about setting up a wordpress or blogspot account where I can blab on my spare time regarding all my life rants — I hope the hosts don’t block me, coz for sure my account will burst – with content and emotions that I put into writing.

I just turned 23 a month ago and with aging (yes, aging! lol!) comes a lot of realization. I don’t know if I’m getting needy or something but I know I want more – from life and yeah, maybe the people around me – well some of them. And its just so frustrating coz when I (or maybe most of us) were young, we always wish to get older so we can easily do away with things that we don’t want and get all those that we want. Little did we know that everything’s gonna be more complicated, or even harder as we thought — its harder to get out of something because it will affect your other life activities, same thing in getting those things you want. Maybe all that I’m getting into is that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how old you are or what have you, it’s that strong desire and passion that will get you moving. No matter how un-fitting-ly things seems at the on-set if you really want stuff to happen then you will brave your way to it. As we all know, WE make our own destiny meaning, WE work for it and WE make it happen. When all our hopes falls apart, don’t blame it on the weatherman, blame it on yourself.
